COURSE OVERVIEW
For this farewell session to the Atacama Desert, all the competitors will come together once again for the special stage, with fifty-odd kilometres over sand and dunes. They should revel in these sensations because the next stage will put both drivers and their teams into much less comfortable positions. The routes have suff ered the rages of time and will be equally harsh on them: frequent potholes and bumps combined with the narrowness of the tracks will expose their vehicles’ bodywork to scratches.
The GREEN section of the route is the connection , the RED is the Special Section of the stage.

Peter just got on wp11.....3h18m back
Good stage for RG and crew. What I find interesting is that as of now, Stage 9, Peugeot has one car retired, and the other two so far back (14th & 36th) they're out of it.
Anyone know what happened to wp9 on the nl tracker? It was there earlier as we all know but I just got back on to check the final results and it no longer shows on the nl site, just the big gap in times. The Dakar site only shows 10 cars thru.
Still good run for the team!
I think the wp9 issue is a technical problem. I just noticed most of those who registered times there are mostly in bunches of the same time. Even if they were looking for it in groups they wouldn't all connect at the same second.
Will be interesting to see the outcome.
Just to put things in perspective, the furthest back a tenth place car has finished until today was 24 minutes back, during Stage 2, the infamous "marathon" stage.
Today the 10th place car finished 41 minutes back, almost twice as far back, for a stage that was about 20 minutes shorter in length.
So I saw this -

S_peterhansel was P4 before to be stopped at 285,25km. Hub changing. Need to wait our assistance. More info asap
But I keep seeing more and more reports of competitors having had a go of it finding this mysterious wp9.
Some sadistic ASO perp probably picked a long/lat that was virtually impossible to get to.
A BUNCH OF 40 MIN PENALTIES HAVE APPEARED ON DUCTH SITE
When you read JC's comments, he did imply that lots of drivers simply skipped WP9, though he had RG turn around to find it.
Interesting to see how this turns out.
