STAGE 7 TRACKING

STAGE 7: CALAMA > SALTA

Connection 534km | Special Stage 220km | Total 754km

COURSE OVERVIEW

The ascent of the Andes Cordillera will be in the small hours, taking all the drivers and teams in convoy for a liaison stage finishing at a record altitude of 4,975 metres, at the top of Argentina’s highest mountain pass. During the special stage, the needle of the altimeter will fluctuate between 3,400 m and 4,000 m, but the speedometer will rarely go below 100 km/h, despite the lack of power which will affect all the vehicles. Still on the subject of figures, at this time of the year and at the highest altitude, the thermometer will display an average temperature of 15 degrees. When all is said and done, the biggest difficulty will be for motorcyclists to maintain their stamina. They will be welcomed in a bivouac which has been relocated for the first part of their marathon stage.

Robby looks tired, I really hope the rest day brings his spirit and smiles back.

Human nature will allow for a certain amount of deflation even in the toughest of the tough. Not to be of any consolation Robby Gordon befits and deserves mention and a place amoungst the elite. He has the most dedicated fans on the planet I guess that's why we have one named after him. GAS ON

FRIENDS

Maybe the 10k feet plus altitudes are getting to him. I know they certainly do me when I visit Leadville, CO.

He's tired of getting hammered by the Girls and the Beach Buggies!

Ouch doesn't sound good. But I'm sure some dude has a bad ass video clip IT'S THE HUMMER OR ROBBIE ROBBIE ROBBIE

Just my 2cents. Robby has to keep going the Planet his fans and all the world including the South Americans who can't wait to see Robby fly by competivly. It's a thrill they will never forget. Most never even heard of Jeff Gordon....Robby will go down as one of the the most influential Drivers in all of Motorsports. RG is a self made Man in his own rite. With Speed Energy ,SST, Off Road ,he can do most any type of Racing he wants. A true American that did it his way...If only we all had that kind of drive and determination. RG the true Privateer.... Just saying GO ROBBY Have fun you're on top of the world!!!!!!!!!

You allready have this Planet's full support !!!!!!

I feel for those non Robby fans that have to wander cyberspace looking for a place to talk about there favorite driver! They need a TOG so they too can have a place to call home!

nah, there are plenty of sites / drivers out there with big fanbases, Facebook. twitter, etc. I just prefer this format to keep the flow correct.

Thanks, I (we) prefer this format too.

Thank you TOG for such a great site........

Post Stage 7 Quotes

Today was a good special for us. Obviously we didn't win the special but we finished second, which is a good thing. I'm still mad at myself from day four. If we hadn't done that, we'd be third place in the rally right now. The first couple of mistakes could have been enough, but the last one was kind of the one that twisted the sword that was inside of us.

A whole lot of racing still to go......;)
