STAGE 7 TRACKING

STAGE 7: CALAMA > SALTA

Connection 534km | Special Stage 220km | Total 754km

COURSE OVERVIEW

The ascent of the Andes Cordillera will be in the small hours, taking all the drivers and teams in convoy for a liaison stage finishing at a record altitude of 4,975 metres, at the top of Argentina’s highest mountain pass. During the special stage, the needle of the altimeter will fluctuate between 3,400 m and 4,000 m, but the speedometer will rarely go below 100 km/h, despite the lack of power which will affect all the vehicles. Still on the subject of figures, at this time of the year and at the highest altitude, the thermometer will display an average temperature of 15 degrees. When all is said and done, the biggest difficulty will be for motorcyclists to maintain their stamina. They will be welcomed in a bivouac which has been relocated for the first part of their marathon stage.

I did extensive web research to fine LLama & Lahma are the same animals...
Kind of like Swensen & Swenson in my neck of the woods.
But I will default to the Oval on this one, wet noodles being prepared...

Your repentance has been accepted :P

GT-Jones, where do you live? I've never had a lahma taco. Have you ever had a buffalo hamburger?

Buffalo burgers are good. But the tacos from Taco John's are far superior to those from the Bell. Not sure about Llama though...

I feel so sorry for you folks. Taco John's? Taco Bell? Seriously? A taco in a "taco shell" is never ever very good. A taco has to be in a fresh fried corn tortilla.

I think I will hit Rubio's for a couple of fish tacos and a cold Negra Medelo

Mmmm. Buffalo. I have a buffalo herd of 300 right across the river from me, on the Tribal Grounds. They are such incredible, massive animals.

Incredible, massive and TASTY!!!

I'll have 'chat' up around the time they begin the cars. Still trying to work out a 'small' bug with it that causes the site to slow when a bunch of people are online.

BE SURE TO POP OUT CHAT TO ITS OWN WINDOW.

that's great for Caselli
he's working his way up the overall, too

Not JC's rally that's for sure. Still pulling for him though.

Any word on the weather and temps at the high altitude?

81 degrees F at Salta/finish right now - start at 11,200 + and get up to 13,200 ft altitude today
