Might as well try all brands
So, where's he getting engines from? TRD?
Yes... TRD
No third parties! He's DIRECT!
I'm not going to cynical about this one bit.
This is the perfect time for this move.
I hope and pray that TRD's policy of information sharing filters down and takes us to the next level.
As much as I would have loved to see him in a Ford, this is the best business move.

BRR
It would be good to see him in a ford, but times are a changing. Could make it interesting for 2010 Dakar Rally,
and the Baja - Toyota Tundra maybe!!!!!!
oh well................................................
I am glad I did not run out and buy a Dodge.
well my wife did...........but she doesn't know who Robby Gordon is.
Good call because he is getting in now. If one of the big three pull out he could have been a casualty.

Getting engines direct is also a plus. no pecking order. Also the ammount of unbiased engineeering support will be truly noticed.

I'm sure RG has a package deal set. Hummer's last year is this year and I think the Silverado deal is up.

So if RG got a match on the offraod program and a match on the former Ford deal... RG should be getting 7-10 million from Toyota next year. Plus, true factory engineering support.

It will be interesting to see what TRD comes up with for the Dakar powerplant if they do melt over to the dirt program.
That's a match made in heaven right there, for how hard RG works and how technical/mechanical the guy is- if he is direct with TRD- It's on for 2009
RG got jerked around by Dodge so bad, and Toyota's clearly doing things right. It's a different mentality over there, and RG will be an equal for the 1st time, which is huge. The guy from Toyota obviously loves RG and believes in him. I think '09 is going to have an odd turn of events; RG winning races with a slim and trim, lean and mean single-car operation, and he's going to be the template for what other drivers are going to want to do in the very near future. Look at RG, he's comfy with sponsorship, TRD, and everything dialed in for next year, while everyone else is freaking out. Could it be the single-car owner/driver is the wave of the future? I hope so, and '09 will tell. RG is going to win races, I feel confident of that for the first time in a looooooong time.
