I don,t know but I think the old Hummer was faster and better for the Dakar.
What do you guys think?

I miss the 80's when I won more races than I lost. But, like the HUMMER's time has pass'd , racers where sold, times have changed.
I'm not sold on that answer. Its not a computer where it goes obsolete. The Baja truck if I remember right was built in the 90's and its a great truck and still going strong. I'm a Robby fan and that wont change. Just from watching all the different videos to me it seems like the Hummer just handled better and went over stuff much easier and the new Gordini seems very uneasy. Just my observation and opinion. I'm not afraid of change either.
it was JMO, they were old and got sold. Has anyone else build rear engine'd racers and won a stage since they where sold? Not so much on both counts. The HUMMER's where not WRC fast. I lost my patients looking for the footage of the HUMMER needing a 3 point turn to make a turn in 2013.
If they where great for the current version of DAKAR, Yazeed would be using the 2 HUMMER's he bought.
Not so much, Yazeed has a Toyota
Favorite Hummer moment...possibly iquque, but I really enjoy this one showing its toughness:
If the Dakar was still in Africa, then yes I think the HUMMER would still be a good piece. Even if the Dakar still went through Chile, the Atacama Desert, and the dunes it could hold its own. Narrow WRC fire roads like we're seeing now puts the HUMMER at a woeful disadvantage.
