Top 30 finish. Not the year I know he wanted, but at least he's in top 35 for next season. Three months to gear up for next season. Hope he can get the equipment he needs to run the way he's capable as a driver/racer.

How will he improve his mile and the 1-1/2 mile programs as a single car owner? Especially if testing is eliminated? Does he still have his 7-point shaker? Will he be able to work out some data sharing with Penske or Petty? Not that those cars are doing tons better, but maybe if the Dodge teams do what Petty recommended, Robby can benefit. Offseason will be interesting.

Seems Nascar is going to try to get them more time at the track on the weekends per other info I've read so far.

no 7 post shaker (fyi 7 post shaker are a cost of around 1.5 million, then you need somebody to be able to translate the information)...

Race Report., Well, not a normal Florida day.. Cool and breezy. We got to the track at 10 and got in line for the RG autograph session. It said limited to the first 100 people and by noon there were probally that many in line, plus a huge crowd in front of the souvenir trailer to take pics. When he showed up everyone cheered. I handed him a shirt he gave me almost 16 years ago at a desert race. He got a kick out of signing it.

RG had a good start and held position till the first caution. All day his crew was a little slow, and it looks like they went backwards after the first pit stop. That being said, he was racy all day and looked good out there. I know he likes to Rim-ride, but he was higher in turn 1 and 4 than just about everyone, and faster than most going into three. made for some very interesting racing all day.

After the Homestead race, IMO the TT COT has promise but it is still not competitive for top 10 finishes. It looks like it gives the CC flexibility in tuning while on the track but the notes aren't there. I think this is something Robby recognizes and where he may be spending some bucks. He also mentioned that Gas Mileage was important for the Road Races and they will see how the Penske motors and the new Dodge P6 measure up for those races. Hopefully, his Speedway car will remain competitive and he will get some decent finishes at the longer Short Tracks. At the end of 2009, if everything goes in the right direction we could see him inside of the top 20.
