I wrote our good friends at JB before their official announcement, hoping that the rumors were false. I still love and respect these folks for taking the time to answer personally, even though it's likely a form letter response. Their many years supporting us means a lot, and I'll continue to enjoy their fine product long after their logo leaves our hood. They recognize that Robby has the greatest fans in racing. So I'm sharing their letter because it's really addressed to everybody on the Planet:

Dear Bourbon Enthusiast,
Thank you for contacting us regarding the announcement that next year Jim Beam will not be a primary sponsor of Robby Gordon Motorsports in the NASCAR® Sprint Cup Series™.

This has been an extremely difficult decision for us. We’ve greatly enjoyed and appreciated our time with Robby Gordon and NASCAR these past five years and thank him and his entire team for their hard work and dedication to the sport.

While we have decided to take our Jim Beam marketing strategy into a different direction in 2010, we have great respect and admiration for the sport of racing and look forward to still being involved at a regional level with some select races next year.

We wish Robby Gordon and his team all the best and know that with fans like you they will continue to have great success. Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.

They conclude with a Red Stag promotion. That stuff's too sweet for daily consumption but made a really sweet paint scheme! We'll miss you JB! But life goes on...

Fortune Brands owns Jim Beam and several other companies and products. We saw Moen on the car which is one but how about Master Lock they look like a perfect fit for the nascar demographic ?
yea i have mentioned this before, how about someone like IR or schlage, master lock is perfect also, ingresol rand owns a lot of this products,a lot of door and lock components.
It's nice that they responded to you. They were a good sponser.
I mean sponsor. Can't spell and don't know how to edit on here.
I also wrote them ,thanking them for past support and got the same reply
Let's hope RGM gets a great finish tomorrow and Freightliner reups for a brace of races next year. If I remember back in the '70s or '80s Eaton use to sponsor a car.
I also wrote to them and got the same reply yesterday.
Sounds like they will run a few races next year... But they don't say with whom.
So, how many races is Traxxas getting...
We know that the associates for this weekend are Eaton and Charolette Trucking Company, but who is Marmon Herrington over the rear bumper? Their web site shows them to be a truck axle company.
It's a pretty good bet that Marmon Herrington is working with RGM, Freightliner, Eaton, Charolette Truck Center, etc. on the Dakar support trucks. I think they do more than just axles - there's some interesting stuff on their web site.

...The Marmon Car Company produced some of the world's finest cars. The Marmon Wasp won the first Indianapolis 500 in 1911, and the Marmon Sixteen was the height of luxury in touring sedans.

Looks like there main biz now is all wheel drive solutions for big trucks. That's probably how they are involved in the Dakar support truck.
Are they still going to be putting cash into the Austrailian V8 super car teams ???
