Remember the Days when the 7 raced and fans talked of when a second team would be added?
Remember when Robby raced in the Coca Cola 600 and the Indy 500 on the same day?
Remember when Robby raced in Dakar?
Remember when SST actually raced in stadiums?
Remember when SST was on NBCSN (although on delayed broadcast)?
Oh, these are the days loss, losing and destruction.
What caused all this loss? Hubris or the Daedalus syndrome. Once the feathers start falling out of the wax wings, it's a straight fall down.
Well that’s quite a post. I just watched a short video explaining hubris syndrome. Are things really that bad? Isn’t SST still going strong?
Remember the Days when the 7 raced and fans talked of when a second team would be added? Yep, right up till the expense of the Car of Tomorrow came due.
Remember when Robby raced in the Coca Cola 600 and the Indy 500 on the same day? Yep, awesome day. Still one of only four drivers to do the double.
Remember when Robby raced in Dakar? Is 2019 DAKAR going to happen? Has anyone seen the rulebook for 'Elite' drivers? I have not found it yet.
Remember when SST actually raced in stadiums? Yep, Robby and investors lost bucket loads of money renting stadiums and hauling in dirt or pavement.
Remember when SST was on NBCSN (although on delayed broadcast)? Yep, now it's Livestreamed 'Live' on Facebook live and http://stadiumsupertrucks.com/live/ and tape delayed on CBS Sports.
SST is doing just fine, Textron XX's project is in production, And Max is getting a lot more time with his dad.
Rod Rosen is new to the Planet and his avatar is of Michael Waldrip - maybe this is OldfatRobby's latest alias?
RG has done a great job of keeping the doors open at RGM. Creating a whole new racing series. Racing selected events and a new program with the UTV industry. Times change and RG has adapted pretty well, IMO.
RGM is expanding,
RG has stated a new TT build is on the horizon even though the current one ran perfectly at the 500,
The ASO can't figure out what type of vehicles they're going to allow to run,
The relationship with Textron (a 3 comma company) is getting stronger,
SST is going to expanding to another continent
Seems like nothing to be worried about.
It is all so wonderful, the future looks bright despite the destruction of the past. The black clouds and tornadoes of the past have rolled by and the torch is passed to a new generation. The sky is the limit. Love, Rod R
