Why not Darian? Pay him good. He already knows the Dodge set-up. Has no one else considered this? TOG??? Let the PLANET speak...

December is acouple of days away, not APRIL.

Does Darian Grubb bring a sponsor with him? Without proper funding it doesn't matter who calls the shots.

I'll play along. A signing of this nature would be a huge boost to RGM. While engineering and technical data is huge, we've struggled to find someone who can wrap their hands/brain around the COT and put a set up under the driver that will work and is adjustable during the course of the race. Darian proved he had the skill, as well as thick skin by leading the team to a championship after he had been essentially fired.

That said, realistically Darian Grubb is going to command a salary that is significantly more than what RGM could afford. I see him going back to Hendrick or another top tier team.

I still think Grubb was the dead weight Stewart was talking about, not the chick that everyone said.

Except Stewart mentioned that happened before Loudon and supposedly, they decided Darien's fate two weeks later.

You're kidding, right? Why on earth would Darian want to? RGM simply doesn't have the resources to be competitive right now, making hiring a top-shelf person like that not nearly as effective (forget the fact that his salary will be BIG bucks). They really need to 1st align with either a larger team, or band together with another single car operation to begin to head in the right direction. Maybe a R&D team for someone, but I don't see any of that happening either.

Also, when has he worked on anything other than a Chevy? Or are you thinking about Steve Addington? My response would also apply for him...

and Addington has a new gig at SHR.

If you owned a truck stop I suppose you could hire Jack Welch to manage it....but it would still be a truck stop.
