Stage 10,
Brabec is lost
11:50 Despres was waiting for Sainz

Team-work is the watchword of the day for Peugeot. Cyril Despres, who started 9 minutes before Carlos Sainz, stopped to wait for his team-mate after 5 km of the special, in order to help him if a problem occurs, just like he did previously for Stéphane Peterhansel.

It looks like a bunch of the leaders went right instead of going left and Toby’s teammate Walker is the new leader .... Bikes

Stage 11, Leaders are in , Ten Brinke wins, waiting on bikes

Toby Price stage Win ! 3rd overall now. Last two stages are Marathon’s ...

Stage 12 cancelled for bikes and quads

it's never over till it's over
12:09 Brabec exits the rally!

Stuck at the 52 km point on the special for the last four hours, Ricky Brabec has eventually decided to give up. The official HRC rider has not been able to repair his Honda, which had caught fire.

Fire ... bummer.

17:54 It's all over for Bernhard ten Brinke!

The leader at the start of the second part of the stage, Berhard ten Brinke has suffered mechanical problems with his Toyota after 570 km of the special. The Dutchman and his French co-pilot Michel Perrin have tried everything in a bid to repair for the last 45 minutes but have finally decided to give up, meaning the virtual third placed driver in the general standings exits Dakar the day before the finish!

18:08 Federico Villagra is out!

Yet another dramatic turn of events the day before the finish of the Dakar: Federico Villagra, the second placed driver in the truck category general standings, who was only one second behind the leader this morning, has dropped out of the rally. Exiting due to a mechanical problem is a cruel way to finish for the Argentinean, who had driven a splendid Dakar up to this point.
