Technically we should be saying congratulations to Trevor Bayne and Richard Petty. This is the first year the Wood's Brothers decided to play the owners points swap game, in order to guarantee a start in the Daytona 500, and for the first 5 races of 2011, Wood's bought owners points from RPM. The #21 is listed on paper and with NASCAR as being owned by Richard Petty and not the Wood's. Everyone knows this is a technicality and per NASCAR the owner listed needs to own at least 10% of the company. But in the record books it should show #21 Trevor Bayne owned by Richard Petty as the winners of the 2011 Daytona 500. This is why Richard Petty was in Victory Lane. I bet most figured he was their to congratulate the Wood's!

Maybe this will help support the fact that teams should not be allowed to swap points. As happy as I was to see the Wood's #21 in victory lane again, it should have an "*" next to the owners name.

Glad the Wood Bros. Got Trevor Bayne.. Legendary Team!! Old Bill Finished 12th.. Strong finish for Old Fart..Hendrick equipment though..
Glad someone different is in victory lane. The kid has some talent. Finished 17th at TMS in his first cup start.

Congrats to the Wood Brothers. I loved seeing the #21 in Victory Lane.
He should replace David Regan in the 6 and refuel the team that Mark Martin built
Technically it isn't a win for "Wood Brothers Racing" either, at least for these first 5 races where Petty is the owner the team is officially known as "Wood Brothers II".
Trevor Bayne gave a good word about drafting with RG. Even said the bumper damage from Jeffy help him hook up to him
I still don't understand that rule.
It will be interesting to see how it will be engraved on the trophy and how it will be put on the plaque on the Daytona display where the car will be shown off until next year. Also there is a display at the NASCAR Hall of Fame where they have a list of all the Daytona winners and the teams. Will that show Trevor with Wood Brothers Racing? Or with Petty, or Wood Brothers ll?

If NASCAR wants to keeps it's history correct it should show the #21 driven by Trevor Bayne and owned by Richard Petty with the team name as Wood Brothers ll. Who would have ever thought Petty would be apart of the Wood Brothers, even if it is only a technicality!
