During the Sirius/XM NASCAR Catchfence show this morning callers were once again posing the question, "should their be a road course race in The Chase?" The callers and hosts debated the pros and cons to why and why not. Then the question was asked to the hosts, if the drivers were in equal cars with equal teams who would be the dominate driver at Sonoma and Watkins Glen. The host immediately stated, "This may surprise the audience, but as good as Kurt Busch and Marcos Ambrose is. Lots of great road aces like Boris Said and Ron Fellows would do better with better equipment, but Robby Gordon was probably the best driver on a road course hands down. When he had solid equipment like RCR's he was dominant and when he had under funded equipment he was still a threat. He is so versatile and has so much car control, he's the one driver that would dominate if everyone was on equal equipment. He can really wheel a car.

It was awesome to hear! I also heard yesterday a hosts state, "Robby not being at Sonoma is such a shame. It's like Dale Junior not racing at Talladega. It's what people come to see. Robby belongs here."

Was the best hands down

Anytime I watch a nascar road course race from sprint cup to nationwide it feels empty without Robby :(

??? Is it that Robby don't want to race it any more ,are is it no one wants to put up the cash that Robby wants, Are is it time that Robby don't have today ? Just asking. That car is Bad ass looking for sure.lol

Is still the best.

Somebody put up $$$$$$ and Robby will be there for sure...

How much would it cost to race one race? How much for the car, entry fee, do you need a special license? Stupid questions I know.

way more than he could win, with a win

The statements from the radio show are nice compliments. And I totally agree with them.

As sad as I am to see him not race nascar anymore it was painful to watch him run with inferior equipment, like watching Jordan play for the Wizards. I'd rather not see him race than run under those conditions.

My guess is that RG is saving his dimes for Max. When the kid turns 16, RG will be back as an owner with Max coming up one of the major motorsport ladder series.

It is BS that Robby is not there, from a fans point of view...as a RGM fan. I know there are circumstances & reasons why he is not at Sonoma...all the money and behind the scene stuff. Why not put Robby in the 12 and that team will have a legitimate chance of a victory. There are 43 drivers entered if I heard right from the telecast. Bump one of those scrubs out and send them packing...sure Penske can muster up a sponsor for a one race deal from a bay area corporation or local business. Doesn't have to be Penske..another team that wants to enter an extra team car for data and or different fuel/pit strategy.
Wow. I remember this pic. Those were the days...when RG announced they were running 2 cars, and PJ Qed cars and raced.
