Las personas aca son "chaqueteras" aplauden cuando les va bien y los critican (matan) cuando les va mal..la gente es muy envidiosa.
Eliseo para mi con esto se termino de desprestigiar, la verdad que no me gusta exponer lo que paso en un foro extranjero pero la verdad que lo que se estaba diciendo dejaba muy mal a Carlo. En todo caso hoy en las noticias lo entrevistaron a Carlo y le preguntaron por lo que habia dicho eliseo...el respondio bueno Uds. estan hablando con Carlo de Gavardo...3 veces Campeon del Mundo, y 13 participaciones en el Dakar...Saluden a Eliseo de mi parte.

Seriously, who couldn't have seen this coming. Robby is going to have to deal with this headache for a while after the Dakar is over. I feel this Carlo was over matched going into this, and driving two wheel drive trophy truck/Class 1 style chassis with a Hummer body is nothing like driving those all wheel drive rally cars were going up against, just ask Mark Miller. I know Robby needs support where ever he can get it now a days, but sometimes you need to think about where that support is coming from.
This is racing and anything that can happen will happen, and when you run out of talent what happens is always bad. In my opinon Robby gave them what they paid for and Carlo wasn't able to step up enough to compete at the level of the Dakar or it's competitors. Not saying he is bad, even the top guys in the sport have gone out just as fast, but in this case it sounds like driving style cause the clutch to fail and bad decision making cause them to be DQ.
Now let's hope Robby can put together some more days like today, because yesterday really hurt us, but there is a lot of race left and anything can happen.
By the way does anyone know who is driving BJ's TT at Laughlin?

I think you're making a lot of assumptions there Wesley. All that's really known is that the clutch went out in the Chile Hummer, and it happened early in the stage. Could be driver error, or could have been a bad part. Perhaps a combination of both.
I'm thankful that the Chile Tourism Board stepped up to sponsor a Hummer this year, as it helps the entire RGM effort. It's too bad that car is out before it even reached Chile. I'd like to see them back again next year.
In the mean time, let's hope Robby and BJ can kick butt in the rest of the Rally to prove that Team Hummer is worth the investment.

What assumptions, i'm just being honest. I have been riding in sand dunes for ever and it is real easy to take out a clutch even if you know what your doing. I just think it was asking a lot of Carlo to achieve any kind of success in this Dakar with what little experience he had in these type of vehicles and the limited time he had to prepare for it.
Honestly, I'm just jealous and a little pissed, because I wish I had the chance to due such a thing as race in the Dakar with a premier vehicle like a RGM Hummer, and to see someone not take full advantage of that chance just rubs me the wrong way. The fact is they had to know they would be DQ, with there actions, so why do it. They could have limped through the stage and fixed the problem afterwards, but they didn't. Instead they quit and through a lot of hard work by a lot of people away and may have DQ a support vehicle also.

Well it's nice to see he is being a man about it, don't see that to much now a days. It sucks things didn't go better for Team Chile, it would have been nice to see 3 Hummers motoring through some of the later stages of the Dakar.

Que pena las palabras de eliseo,no estoy deacuerdo con él,no es valido que el ahora diga que hay gastos que tienen prioridad,siempre los hay,que es epoca de crisis,siempre hay alguna crisis,que otros estan primero,siempre hay alguien primero que necesita ayuda,el asunto es correr en DAKAR,por que el,en vez de criticar no ayuda a los demás pilotos nacionales a surgir, y se deja de mezquindades,si esta es la unica forma de subir un piloto chileno a una maquina de punta construida en USA gracias al Team Hummer,por eso está bien gastado el dinero,ni eliseo ni carlos tienen maquinas asi,entonces hay que salir afuera para conseguirlas,aprender mas de ellas,en nuestro pais ese dinero estatal gastado en Carlos es una muy buena inversión,independiente de los otros aspectos,justo ahora se quiere dar a entender como que se le puede hacer un daño al país,yo estoy contento,por fin que se gaste dinero estatal en el deporte motor,con eso se le está dando la oportunidad a Carlos de prepararse mejor,el ya es un buen embajador de Chile,se lo merece,uno de los escasos lugares de Chile que puede fabricar algo que corra como para el DAKAR puede ser la ciudad de copiapó ellos tienen experiencia,pero un Hummer como ese dificil,por ejemplo la maquina Nissan Nº428 fue construida y preparada netamente en Antofagasta,es made in antofagasta,entonces podemos que fabricarlos,no igual pero se puede,e visto muy buenos pilotos copiapinos como también de otras ciudades,en copiapo tienes las dunas cerca y puedes trabajar en la maquina con toda la experiencia que tienen ellos,se trata de sumar apoyo,de que todos remamos en el mismo sentido,Don Eliseo usted también,no me queda mas que agradecer a don Roby Gordon y su Team,ellos hisieron lo que corresponde,nosotros los chilenos tenemos que aprender mas de esto y prepararnos mejor y apoyar a nuestra gente aunque se equivoque Don eliseo,si el proximo DAKAR se hace nuevamente en Chile es posible de que en Antofagasta se construyan mas maquinas para participar,no como el Hummer,pero definitivamente en Antofagasta hay un grán entusisamo por esta carrera, pero se necesita tener mas inscritos,mas pilotos Chilenos con sus maquinas para que se vayan ayudando en el camino y cooperando en el transcurso de la competencia,esta competencia es dura y de largo aliento,la mejor forma de participar es como equipo,aprovechemos que tenemos un gran aliado,los vehiculos de baja 1000 se pueden fabricar en Chile en una version mas economica que sirva para la competencia,permitirían a pilotos chilenos competir en el DAKAR,eso es lo que hay que hacer invitar a Roby Gordon y su Team al Raid de copiapó a fines de enero,quien sabe a lo mejor dice que si,asi tendrán la oportunidad de conocerlos y aprender de ellos,mas quizas Roby tenga ideas que quiera compartir,para hacer competencias,etc,se puede hacer en ves de Baja 1000 un Atacama 1000 y asi le damos la posibilidad a aquellos de no estar solos y prepararse para el DAKAR.
