Perhaps Robby could put Terry Labonte in his car for the shootout.
I used to like the simple days of just winning a pole made you eligible .
agreed
yup....i'll second that.
I realize that they had to do this with Dodge only having 3 teams next season. However, can they not just go with something based on last seasons results? I love the idea of having the 12 chase drivers in the field. I also have no grudge against including previous Bud Shootout winners as that was a part of the rules when it was a pole oriented race. Still, this is a little much. No way should John Andretti, Derrick Cope, and Geoff Bodine be anywhere close to being in this race. Marlin, Schrader, and Terry Labonte are only slightly better but still should'nt be in this race. With all of these hacks, my question is will you have start and parks in this race? Do the people in Daytona even think about some of these ideas before they announce them?
why not just use the top 35 in points?
The past Daytona winners and Coke 400 allowed Junior to get in along with some other sponsor happy teams. Same old Nascar. They should have just said, "After further review, we like the following drivers and/or their sponsors...so they qualify."
I'm suprised it doesn't say current or past SCORE champions are banned from participating....
So in other words NASCAR is saying F*ck the little man once again...
Not that I care much about this race but I'd wish NASCAR will stop changing the format.

they BETTER leave the Gatorade 150's alone
this race became so insignificant once they dropped the pole winners entry requirement, so I dont care who races in it.
I had no problems with allowing past champions to race in this event along with all pole winners from the previous season.

The rest of it is just more of NASCAR making the good ole boys happy like usual and not caring about anything else.
