not at all. But I wouldn't be surprised if there are S&P's at tracks like Pocono , New Hampshire, and even Dover.
I hope he has PJ do it.
Mapei for Texas as Robby stated in the speedfactory episode.
Looking forward to a great race this weekend!! Wish I could be there - let's cheer the team on and worry about the rest of the races later.
Landon Cassill in the 71 this week, S&P. Lally in at WG, full race
The difference between running 30th and 40th is 40 points. If going to a track and starting and parking is nothing more than a quest to stay in the top 35 then so be it. That would serve purpose for the races we come to race. Robby has to start getting the finishes before he can get the sponsors, he said so in no uncertain terms himself. That being said he also takes great pride in the way the team is run "in house". However to get those finishes he will need quality people on hand, which i'm sure he does and as Robby stated also "we are a young team". I take that as only 5 + years in and from a staffing age standpoint as well. Keeping quality staff employed to get good finishes and getting good finishes to attract sponsors is hardly going to happen in a start and park format. Also stated "survival mode" seems to be the blue plate special at RGM at this time.
When it's all said and done there are two things that need to happen. 1) Not only the most important and elementary aspect of the sport is funding. I sure hope this factory turns out a winner in the long run in that.
2) The members of his staff that are the most competent stay loyal to Robby as we forge ahead through these supposed leaner showings. If the team starts to loose personnel such as Gene along the way if the team does start to cut back, the wheels will fall off big time.
In the end the team has been running for 5+ years and not having a long time relationship with a crew chief is what has hurt us the most. The last thing we need is more turnover. Sad to say but it's hard to hold people together when it comes to the pocket book and if the folks there can take a full paycheck for being a start and park I hope they keep their chin up along the way. I just hope that there is an ace in this deck that fills this hand soon.
Quite frankly, I don't know how Robby can sleep at night other than the fact he must be so burned out at the end of the day it comes natural. I don't want his job and I can't think of anyone that could do it as well if at all. So raise a glass, he's a bigger man than many will ever be.
