It's a fire storm by RG's house. He just confirmed to me that is So Cal pad is right in the shit after I texted him the cross streets.
This sucks. I hope his house get through this because he has some of his best memorbilia in that house.

If you are talking about Bob's house he should be fine. I don't know were Robby's house is. My old house was VERY close to the fire they had last year in Santiago Oaks/Anaheim Hills. Any fire would have to be REALLY intense to be able to get over to Baja Bobs. My old crib would be ashes before Bobs got burned.

I feel for all these families! I lived threw both San Diego wildfires. The 2003 was the one that I was most effected by. My home was ok but 2 of my firends lost their homes. One of my firends who lost his home was with me while we saved another friends house from burning down.
Me and 5 of my friends went to this friends house and the 5 of us not only saved his house but we saved the 4 houses on thier culdasack. The fire had blown threw and all the hill sides where burt by the time the 1st fire truck had shown up. Litterly the firemen asked if we cleared the brush and hosed the houses down. We said Yep! They then got in the fire truck and left the neighborhood to fight it on the next street.
On suggestion for anyone who lives in these types of areas. If you have a pool, get a generator and a high pressure submersable water pump. This way you have your own water starage and your own power to fight the fire. Dont expect your tap water to have any pressure as the water pressure will be little to none, due to everyone else using their hoses and then when the fire dept hooks up to the fire hydrents. Also once the power lines gets burnt the whole area will lose power. Your generator will keep you water pump working.
Then once you must leave the house, put 2 or 3 wurly bird garden sprinklers on you roof and attach the hose to them. Put the generator in an area that you think the fire cant reach and turn it on. The generator will run the pump that will rain water on your roof. Just the mist from those 3 sprinklers and the water running off your roof will kill most embers which land on your roof or eves, and thats how most of the houses catch fire is from the flying embers. BTW if your house has rain gutters rip them off! This lets the water run off the roof and it makes a nice water fall like barrier. Replacing some rain gutters is cheap compared to you whole house, and if you do lose the house you will need new gutters anyways!
I know one person who does not have a pool, but for a few thousand dollors he was able to put a huge water tank in the ground that is used as a water storage, for this exact reason. I think in some of the more rual areas of San Diego County they are now requiring something like this on all new construction.

I know what it's like to lose your home to a fire. Its the stuff that can't be replaced you miss the most. My prayers will be with all those who are effected by this.
