Obviously with this being the first time the #4 Jim Beam/Menards Toyota will attempt the race they are not locked in. There are no Past Champions that are not locked in so that means the 8 fastest non top 35 drivers will make the race, Most of you probably already know that.

I see PJ making the race as the 4th fastest go or go homer behind Fellows, Said, and Speed. What do you all think?

not related but how in the hell does the 87 qualify so well at other tracks
Front Row Joe! Or it might be that green fuel they put in the car before he goes out to qualify!
Joe Nemechek is magic. Until the race starts.
204 P.J. Jones

83 Scott Speed is in right

i think these are gohomers........and only 8 get in. im a visual person
I really don't want to see any start and park teams get in over someone who would actually RACE this weekend, especially with such a potentially interesting field. Too bad nascar doesn't take that into consideration in some way. I mean, it's called 'racing,' not 'quitting after a few laps.'
Very true, but on the flip-side, that's why you need to earn your way into races
Scott Speed is no joke. I was at the 2007 Monaco Grand Prix and I thought he looked fantastic. Ran mid pack with very established F1 drivers all day and I think he wound up 9th and very unlucky to not score a few points.
Any body who can wheel a grand prix car around that track at competative speed and bring it home clean is no fool. He will be a threat this weekend.
Franchitti was a pretty talented fellow, too.....remember how awesome he did in his road course debut....

oh yeah, he didn't qualify for Sonoma in 2008....along with the aformentioned GREAT J J Yeley...(who only had the opportunity to drive the 11 and the 18 cars...which currently do not do anything in Cup...lol...and then took a Tony Raines....a TONY RAINES...locked in top 35 car and drove that into oblivion)

Speed might be able to play follow the leader in F1...he cannot wheel a stock car.....
yes frnchitti is good....speed will make it, RC is is strong point i think...of course ron will
oops speed no go
I'm scared of Ron Fellows this weekend, he's the sleeper. It's been proven that the 09 car can win races, and is good equipment. Ron Fellows is one of the best drivers out there, and in a Hendrick Chevy he'll tear it up--even though it's not a Corvette ;)
Agreed
