Planet Robby

Robby Gordon Headquarters: Dakar, Desert & Domes

Lots of comments and questions around on format and specs....I haven't seen anyone comment on the business side of this.

This new series is a very positive endorsement of RG and his ability to not only race, but run a business and put on a show. There seems to be a large number of very prominent companies willing to invest and endorse SST....

At first glance, RG seems to be getting the best of "grass roots" and "major media" in the same event. Pretty trick.

Back in college, I went to a Mickey Thompson event at Anaheim Stadium. RG drove - I remember walking the stadium and seeing families, etc. From a business standpoint, this is an enormous opportunity for RG - I'm pretty excited.

Hopefully, Dallas is on the docket next year.....Cowboys Stadium is HUGE and would be an an awesome venue.

The "roof" on many of the stadiums is pretty cool too....no weather cancellations and delays.

Dallas is on the list in the press release. No dates yet

Any business is a risk. I really hope this one takes off. I loved the MTEG series and will go to as many of these races as I can. Hats off to RG for making this happen. I am really excited about it and hope he fills the stadiums.

Hoping Dallas is with Cup weekend, I head back there for them.

Bring some action to Denver, we are starving for some action

Amen brother. Colorado is dying for some good racing...I'm just south of you

I used to love that MTEG and the World of Outlaws would come to Colorado....now nothing but stinking hippies!

AMA Nationals tomorrow ! Then nothing

+1

i hope they come back to Angel Stadium that would be nice to see stadium racing come back to Orange County... and I hope this series gets some TV time

He said it would have network TV coverage.

TENTATIVE SEASON SCHEDULE• Las Vegas, NV• Long Beach, CA• Los Angeles Coliseum – April 27, 2013• San Diego, CA – May 4, 2013• Los Angeles Coliseum – May 11, 2013• San Diego, CA – May 18, 2013• Dallas, TX• Phoenix, AZ• Crandon, WI• St. Louis, MO• Montreal• Mexico

I also saw the tentative schedule. My question is, what kind of stadium is in Long Beach? The only stadium I know of is The Vet. Is there a different one, or one in a close by city? I thought of the Big Ed, but that is not really near Long Beach. Either way, April 27th in LA Coliseum is going to be gnarly!

My big question is why Crandon ? I know it's supposed to the Mecca for short course but this is STADIUM racing .
