January 3rd-8th, the Rally Raid starts in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and races South than East before racing to North to the city of Ha'il.

January 9th, Rest Day Ha'il

January 10th-15th, the Rally Raid continues from Ha'il through the North Eastern area of Saudi Arabia before heading to West, than South along the Red Sea, finishing in Jeddah.

15:17 Sainz bounces back to win the stage
Carlos Sainz has managed to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat, erasing what looked like an insurmountable deficit to take the stage by 25 seconds over his frenemy Stéphane Peterhansel. The 2020 champion is now in control of the overall by just eight seconds over his teammate. What a show by the stars of the Mini clan!
15:24 Prokop best of the rest
Martin Prokop acquitted himself valiantly in face of Carlos Sainz and Stéphane Peterhansel's exhibition, putting in a consistent performance to finish third on the day. It is a solid start for the Czech driver, who only lost 3 minutes to the leading duo.

17:03 Gutierrez stamps her authority
Cristina Gutiérrez produced a flawless performance on the road to Bisha and left the competition in the dust in the lightweight prototype category. The young driver beat Josef Macháček by 16'34' and Seth Quintero by 18'22' to become the first female Dakar stage winner since Jutta Kleinschmidt in 2005!
17:21 Varela, Jones and López within a minute
Reinaldo Varela has claimed the first stage of the 2021 Dakar. The Brazilian winner of the 2018 edition beat Austin Jones by 28 seconds and 'Chaleco' López by 42. Last year's runner-up, Sergey Karyakin, was off the pace and finished in fifth place, losing over three minutes and finishing behind Gerard Farrés.
