Robby Gordon will drive the #7 SPEED Energy/ TBA/ DODGE.The team is locked in for the first 5 races of the season, & will run a limited schedule after Bristol.Here is the 2 week schedule for RGM at the Florida Track.

It was the closing rate that bit the 88...48 made an odd move & away she went. NASCAR needs to speed up the single cars, but who knows if changes will come. DW didn't blame the 7...just a product of no draft practice & the teams that didn't run the Bud-Shootout.

I'd love to see how different the responses would be on this site had the situation been reversed. Robby was at least partially to blame.

ESPN's take:

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. has wrecked his pole-winning Daytona 500 car.

Earnhardt was pushing Hendrick Motorsports teammate Jimmie Johnson in Wednesday's practice when the contact caused Johnson to bobble.

A second pack of cars led by Martin Truex Jr. closed quickly on Earnhardt's bumper, causing the No. 88 Chevrolet to spin across the track and into the inside wall.

Hendrick Motorsports immediately pulled out a backup car for Earnhardt. He will have to forfeit the top starting spot in Sunday's season-opening race.

It will be Earnhardt's third car of Speedweeks. He wrecked one in last weekend's exhibition Budweiser Shootout.

Spot on Matt, Who really cares. RG getting blamed for something...whats new? Anyways speeds don't matter in practice. It's all about dancing partners and luck in this race.

Your right about the responses...would be totaly different. I would be pissed taking out the little guys...jk. Just a product of the closing rate with this years Daytona. Feel bad for Jr...hopefully he has a great race come sunday.

Cool, most work for this race is done at the shop(aero). If your happy with the Geometry there's no reason to put more miles on a motor and risk a wreck.
