Join us here to discuss all the 2009 Daytona 500 practices,qualifying,Duel150's and the actual Daytona 500 race. A week long tradition ! First practice begins on Saturday , Feb 7th at 10:30 am,live on SPEED TV. Qualifying is on Sunday, Feb 8th, live on FOX, and the Duel 150's are on Thursday, Feb 12th live on SPEED. The Daytona 500 is on Sunday , Feb 15th and is on FOX.

Did anyone think that? I sure hope not. My only complaint was the road course last year, he didnt seem to have killer hp plus he didnt get good milege. You usually should get at least one of the two.

I think the engineering support of TRD is much more helpful than hp.

Isn't it the #39,#21, and #28 that are locked in? I am confused about the daytona qualifying.. wouldn't that mean Tony would have to use the "PCP"?

The 39 is the #66 from last year, therefore is in the top 35. The three locked in on speed then that are not top 35 are the 21, 14, and 28. Meeee was pointing out the 66 will get the past champions provisional since Terry Labonte is driving.

I gotcha dude, I forgot that Riggs had the #66 in the top 35 last year.. speaking of which I never understood why Riggs never got any good offers this year to drive for another team considering he was able keep his car inside the top 35 in obviously sub par equipment.. does he have a ride beyond the 500?
