Finally a finish that matched his perfromance. Robby's 16th place finish moved him up to 34th in owner points and gave him a 97 point advantage over 36th.
ok.. i have to say this.. you all saw his practice speed rankings? right?? RGM did a great job tonight! They had one bad pit stop at the beginning of the race that put him a lap down. At one point Robby raced his ass off and passed several cars to get into position to get the lucky dog, then got it! Then Robby broke a couple splitter supports as a result of someone elses crash. took the several pit stops to repair and stay on the lead lap! (if you watched track pass and saw how close, and how many times, Robby came to getting lapped during this repair) then Robby broke a belt that had to be replaced.. Reminder!!!! this is a short track! Time in the pits are very limited.... It just don't take that much time to make a lap under caution, therefore limiting the amount of time you can spend on pit road.
RGM did and excellant job tonight!!!! good points finish which is what Robby was truthfully looking out for.... he had to!
GREAT JOB...We All Breath..With Robby, HOT Damb!! Got Some More POINTS!!!!!! "Nice Job" Now That`s Rac`n..
But we need some top 10`s Soon..."LOV Ya" Robby
Well I believe we would of had a top 10 or better if it wasn't for all the little malfunctions in the second half of the race.
Robby raced smart.... I was watching on trackpass raceview. on restarts Robby would get passed by the same cars almost everytime. 15-20 laps later Robby would pass all of them back everytime. He managed his tires very well.
If your in the front and can get ahead of everyone. the racing isn't has hard on the tires.. when in the back you have manage and work your way to the front.
This was a great night of racing and 16th was a great finish considering the problems that RGM faced. Any one of the pit road repairs could have put him a lap down but the crew bounced back from the first stop and kept the 7 on the lead lap as much as possible. It was really fun to get to watch Robby pick off cars once he found his pace. He saved his tires on runs I was sure he would go full Gas On and burn them off in 20 laps. 34th in points is better than 35th so the team is going in the right direction! Cant wait till Darlington.
A great night of smart racing and the team really came together. It has to be some kind of record to have pitted that many times on a short track and remain on the lead lap. But since it was Robby, NASCAR will never mention what a great feat it was.
